Monday afternoon's contest between the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals was a special one for the Zimmer family. For just the third time in their respective professional careers, Royals pitcher Kyle Zimmer got an opportunity to pitch to his brother Bradley, the Indians centerfielder.

For now, brother Bradley has the last laugh. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Bradley clobbered a home run to deep right field off his brother Kyle, the first hit he's recorded against his brother at the MLB level. Check out the video below.

The two brothers previously met twice during the 2021 campaign. Kyle won the first battle, striking out Bradley on July 10th. Then, in late August, Bradley worked a walk.

It's a pretty special moment between brothers and the type of individual matchup that only baseball can produce. According to MLB stats, Bradley's home run was just the fourth time a brother hit one out against his fellow brother since 1900.

Bradley is the younger of this pair of first round MLB draftees. The 28-year-old center fielder was selected 21st overall in the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft. Kyle, age 30, was drafted 5th overall in the 2012 MLB June Amateur Draft.
