Saquon Barkley is a really tough player to value in fantasy football in 2021. When healthy he's clearly one of the best RBs for fantasy football. A torn ACL limited him to two games last year, however, and he's not necessarily out of the woods on the injury front now.

In fact, the Giants still haven't announced his status for their Week 1 season opener against the Denver Broncos.

Ultimately, fantasy football managers who rolled the dice on drafting Barkley shouldn't be too concerned about whether he plays in Week 1 or not.

Sure, you'd like to have your first-round pick in the lineup in Week 1, but if it costs you one game of production to get him at full health for the rest of the year then that's a pretty fair tradeoff.

He was the RB10 in fantasy football in 2019, even though he was limited to just 13 games. That year he put up an average of 18.8 fantasy points per game. He also was clearly going to get the same kind of workhorse volume in 2020 before he was banged up, notching 15 carries and 9 targets in his only full game.

Even with the injury question mark, Barkley checks in at RB9 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
