The Philadelphia Eagles have been decimated by injuries at pretty much every offensive position group this season, and tight end is no exception. With Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert both already on the shelf, few believed third-string TE Richard Rodgers was set to do much of anything.

He certainly exceeded expectations in his first full-time start, however. After tearing up the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, Richard has put himself firmly on the fantasy football radar.

Richard Rodgers Fantasy Outlook

Rodgers popped off for 6 catches for 85 yards on a sizable 8 targets. It's clear that Wentz is going to funnel targets toward his tight end, no matter which one is on the field. Before Goedert got hurt in Week 3, he had racked up 17 targets despite playing just two games. Ertz, meanwhile, is still the team's leader in targets (45) despite missing last night's game.

As long as Ertz and Goedert are sidelined, that kind of volume is going to make Rodgers worth a look, particularly as a streaming tight end. Ertz is going to miss at least the next two weeks as he's still on IR, but Goedert might be able to get back on the field sooner than that.

It's hard to see Rodgers having any fantasy relevancy once Goedert or Ertz return, so it'll be important to monitor their status if you're thinking about adding Rodgers for a juicy Week 8 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
