The past two NFL seasons have had to be frustrating for Saquon Barkley. The New York Giants' running back has struggled to stay healthy, playing in just 15 of a possible 33 games. Trade rumors continue to circulate around the Pro bowl talent as an asking price has now been revealed.

Saquon Barkley Trade Rumors

Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com has reported that the Giants would be open to dealing Barkley in return for a third or fourth round pick. At least that was the buzz at the NFL combine. It wouldn't be shocking to see a couple of NFL teams in need of a RB upgrade interested in acquiring the 25-year-old.

Of course, general manager Joe Schoen has already expressed that he would "be open to anything" in terms of trade talks. It's important to remember that Barkley is set to enter free agency following the 2022 season. New York could be looking to get something for him now rather than letting him walk.

Barkley finished last season with 856 yards from scrimmage and 4 total touchdowns, while averaging a career-low 3.7 yards per rushing attempt. The explosiveness he showed during his first two NFL seasons is suddenly nowhere to be found as he broke just 4 tackles for the Giants in 2021.

This could be a perfect opportunity for an NFL team to swoop in and give Barkley a much-needed change of scenery. It's simply a waiting game at this point, though. For now, the Giants remain long shots to win Super Bowl 57 with odds set at +8000, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
