One storyline that seems to be flying under the radar this NFL offseason is the fact that Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is being mentored by Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. It has become clear at practice that Lock may already be improving thanks to the help of an NFL legend.

There's no question that the Broncos need improved quarterback play if they want any shot at making the playoffs next season. A lot of Lock's past struggles have come via sloppy footwork, but he was seen mirroring Manning's famous square stance while taking snaps out of shotgun.

This seems to be just a glimpse into all that Manning is helping Lock with. The third-year QB could take a major step forward if a new stance helps him fix his accuracy issues. Last year, Lock threw less than 70 percent of his passes on target. Plus, unlocking the potential that Lock has shown would greatly change the landscape of his Broncos' future.

Lock's immediate changes should give Denver fans a bit of excitement as it shows that he is fully dedicated to refining his skills and getting better. Manning is a 14-time Pro Bowler and if any of his past success can rub off onto Lock, the Broncos could be in for a surprising season.

The Broncos head into training camp without an announced starting quarterback. Lock is expected to battle it out with newcomer Teddy Bridgewater, but it is definitely possible that he has a bit of an upper hand. After all, he is learning from the only Denver quarterback to win a Super Bowl in the 21st century.

Right now, FanDuel Sportsbook gives the Broncos -190 odds not to make the playoffs in 2021, according to the latest NFL odds.
