Now that the Los Angeles Chargers have decided to use the franchise tag on Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper instantly becomes the most sought-after tight end on the market. While his ceiling might not be quite as high as Henry's, Hooper looks like one of the most reliable pass-catchers at the position and is still just 25 years old.

Entering free agency after the best season of his career, here are the three most likely destinations for Hooper.

3. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins seem to be in the midst of a full-scale rebuild, and adding someone like Hooper would make a ton of sense. They have the cap space to do it, sitting with the eighth-most in the NFL (projected $61 million), and they also have a clear need now that Jordan Reed is out of the picture. No tight end on the team broke 250 receiving yards in 2019, and Hooper would be a nice safety blanket for Washington's developing signal-caller, Dwayne Haskins.

2. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are quietly one of the most interesting teams in the league this offseason. After a surprising 10-6 finish in 2019, Buffalo now has the fourth-most cap space in the NFL and can afford to make some serious upgrades this offseason. Hooper would be a natural target. He'd give Josh Allen a reliable safety blanket, and Hooper and Dawson Knox could create a dynamic one-two punch at tight end.

1. New England Patriots

Arguably the most obvious name on this list, there are few, if any, teams that need a tight end more than the New England Patriots. In 2019, no Patriots' TE reached even 200 receiving yards. The team's primary concern will, of course, be the status of Tom Brady, but the latest odds suggest he's likely to return. With a clear need at the position and enough cap space to make a splash, Hooper could be a fantastic addition for New England.
