Dusty Baker Provides Concerning Alex Bregman Injury Update

While the Houston Astros are trying to pull away in the AL West division standings, they continue to do so without their two-time All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman. Bregman has been sidelined since June 16 due to a quad strain that turned into a hamstring injury.
In fact, Bregman hit this hamstring snag during a rehab outing with Triple-A Sugar Land just 10 days ago. Since then, he's hasn't seen an inning of live action and the injury updates (non-updates) continue to add to growing concern.
"No update on Bregman," Baker said.

Alex Bregman Injury Update
Astros manager Dusty Baker's latest update on his All-Star third baseman is more of the same. "No update on Bregman," Baker puts it simply.
With no updates and no presence of Bregman in Triple-A Sugar Land's lineup, Astros fans are left scratching their heads. Only time will tell when Bregman is cleared to resume his rehab assignment, but this appears to be more serious than originally thought.
On the year, Bregman is slashing .275/.359/.428 with 7 home runs and 34 RBIs, although he's been held to just 59 games played. He's a vital part of Houston's machine-line offense that still leads the league with 636 runs scored.
Currently, the Astros own the second-best odds (+460) to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook. If Houston is unable to get Bregman healthy in time for the postseason, those odds could take a bit of a stumble.
