Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift exited his team's Thanksgiving Day loss with a shoulder injury before halftime and did not return. Now that further testing has been done, his prospects of playing in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings are looking bleak.

D'Andre Swift Injury Update

Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters on Monday that "it's hard to say that you'd see [Swift] playing" in Week 13.

The news got worse on Wednesday when NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Swift "could miss multiple weeks" with his sprained shoulder.

Is D'Andre Swift Going to Play This Week?

It's hard to imagine Swift suiting up in Week 13 considering reports already suggest he may miss multiple weeks of action.

Also considering what Campbell told reporters on Monday, it doesn't seem likely that Swift will play. With the Lions still being winless ahead of Week 13, there's no rush for him to return to the lineup.

When is D'Andre Swift Coming Back?

There still isn't an injury return timetable for D'Andre Swift. As mentioned earlier, Detroit's season is essentially over and there's no benefit to rushing its No. 1 RB back into the lineup. A return in Week 14 seems much more likely.
