Tom Brady proved that he is truly the G.O.A.T. this year when he won the Super Bowl in his first season with a completely new organization. The move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was such a success, in fact, that the idea of an extension for the 43-year old quarterback is not off the table.
According to Bucs general manager Jason Licht, it's "a possibility" that they extend Brady as soon as this offseason.
There have already been rumors that TB12 wants to play past 45, so this recent news syncs up with that growing narrative. As for Tampa, they have clearly struck gold with Brady, so they'll likely ride this train as far as it goes.
The legendary quarterback will make $25 million in 2021 ($28.375 million cap hit), so one can only wonder how much he might earn in an extension. The other option for Brady is to test the open market one last time in 2022, cashing in on one final payday. Then again, we said that last time.
Whatever Tom chooses to do, the ball is clearly in his court, leaving everyone else to wait anxiously on his decision. After all, "greatest of all-time" players don't come around everyday.
