Teams are gearing up for the second half of the season with All-Star festivities in the rearview mirror. The Milwaukee Brewers are in great position for a postseason run, currently sitting in first place in the NL Central at 53-39.

Milwaukee may get a huge boost down the stretch in the form of reliever Justin Topa.

Justin Topa Injury

Topa made his major league debut in 2020, but he was ruled out for at least half of the season in 2021 Spring Training due to a flexor strain in his right elbow. He was recently sent to the ACL Brewers for a minor league rehab assignment and pitched a perfect inning while striking out two batters.

It's great to see 30-year-old finally getting live game reps again. He'll likely need a few appearances in the minors to shake off his rust, but he could be ready to help the Brewers' bullpen as the playoffs near. He posted a 2.35 ERA across 6 appearances for the Brewers last year.

Milwaukee is tied for the seventh-best odds to win the World Series at +1300, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
