Yankees News: New York Gets Great Zack Britton Injury Update

With the 2021 MLB All-Star Game in the books and the season set to resume on Thursday, the New York Yankees have gotten some great news regarding the latest injury update on left-handed reliever Zack Britton.
The Yankees announced a couple of roster moves Thursday afternoon, including how they have officially reinstated Britton from the 10-day injured list. The 2016 American League Reliever of the Year landed on the IL back on June 26 after straining his hamstring in a 5-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:

Zack Britton Injury Update
The fact that Britton is healthy enough to join New York's bullpen is nothing short of great news, especially as they chase a playoff spot in the second half of the season. The Yankees currently sit 4.5 games back of the final AL Wild Card spot at 8.0 games behind the Red Sox for the top spot in the AL East.
Injuries have limited Britton to pitching in just 4.1 innings so far this season, recording a 4.15 ERA and 1.385 WHIP during that span. The hope is that his injury woes are behind him and he can return his 2020 form. During that season, Britton pitched to a 1-2 record with a 1.89 ERA, 8 saves and 1.000 WHIP in 20 appearances. If that's the pitcher that New York is getting back, he could be a game-changer down the stretch.
Britton returns to the Yankees' bullpen in time for a four-game series against the Red Sox that begins on Thursday night. New York is the slight favorite ahead of the matchup at -110 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, while Boston is the -106 underdog.
