One of the most dramatic potential storylines of the 2021 NFL offseason has been avoided. The Dallas Cowboys and franchise quarterback Dak Prescott have agreed to terms on a new contract that will keep Dak in Dallas for the long-term.

The Cowboys stumbled to a 6-10 record in 2020, with Prescott making just five starts before suffering a season-ending injury, and it's clear that he's key to this team's success.

That's why it's no surprise that Dallas' odds to win Super Bowl LVI next year improved as soon as the deal was done.

Cowboys Super Bowl LVI Odds 2022

With uncertainty surrounding Dak, the Cowboys' Super Bowl odds opened at +3300 on FanDuel Sportsbook as soon as Super Bowl LV ended. Now, Dallas' odds to win Super Bowl LVI in 2022 have jumped to +2900.

This isn't a huge jump, but it does show that the expectation all along has been that Dak would play for the Cowboys next season — whether it was under the franchise tag or a new contract like he did end up signing.

Those odds rank 14th in the NFL, and they are the only team in the NFC East that doesn't rank bottom-10 in the odds.
