There's widespread belief that Chiefs Pro Bowl EDGE Frank Clark will not be suiting up in Kansas City this year. The loss of a premier pass-rushing talent undoubtedly stings for a team that ranked 19th in sacks (32). Fortunately, the latest rumors suggest Andy Reid and the front office have a solid contingency plan in free agency.

Chiefs Free Agency

These free agency rumors point to Kansas City targeting Green Bay Packers EDGE Za'Darius Smith as a replacement.

Chiefs Rumors

Smith is still currently under contract until 2023, but insiders expect the Packers to release him in order to help remedy their cap situation. Don't be surprised if the Chiefs jump at this opportunity quickly if Green Bay does release their two-time Pro Bowler.

The seven-year pro was sidelined for all but one game last year due to a back injury. However, he racked up 13.5 and 12.5 sacks, respectively, in his two previous seasons and is seen as a very capable pass-rusher when healthy.
