The Atlanta Braves have quickly surged into first place in the NL East, winning 11 of their last 14 games.
They are set to receive a boost to the rotation as pitcher Huascar Ynoa has officially been activated from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday night's game.
Huascar Ynoa Injury Update
Ynoa has been out since mid-May due to a fracture in his pitching hand that he suffered by hitting the dugout bench. The 23-year-old has looked impressive in his rehab starts and will be looking to pick up where he left off to begin the year posting a 3.02 ERA through nine games pitched (8 starts).
Overall, Ynoa owns a 4-2 record on the season to go along with 50 strikeouts in a total of 44.2 innings pitched. The right hander's 2021 breakout campaign has been fueled by a strong strikeout rate (27.9%) and a walk percentage (6.1%) that ranks well below the MLB average.
The coaching staff should slide Ynoa right back into the middle of the rotation in hopes that he can provide solid innings down the stretch. Atlanta is looking to win its second consecutive division title as they currently lead the Philadelphia Phillies by 1.5 games and the New York Mets by 3.5 games.
The Braves have odds set at -105 to take home the NL East crown and odds set at +3200 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
