There's no question that Yannick Ngakoue is one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL, and that's why his potential free agency and then trade demand was one of the biggest stories of the 2020 NFL offseason.

Minnesota Vikings fans may not realize just how rare a talent they got when they acquired Ngakoue in a trade on Sunday, however.

Ngakoue is one of only seven players since the NFL started recording sacks (1982) to record at least 8.0 sacks in each their first four NFL seasons. That puts him in elite company, as the other six players are Reggie White, Derrick Thomas, DeMarcus Ware, Terrell Suggs, Dwight Freeney and Aaron Donald.

Five of those six players rank top-20 on the NFL's all-time sack list, with three of them cracking the top 10. The only one that doesn't rank top-20 (Donald) already ranks No. 91 despite having just six NFL seasons under his belt.

Ngakoue also ranks No. 12 in the NFL in sacks (37.5) as well as No. 8 in QB hits (85) since entering the league in 2016.

Pairing Ngakoue with Danielle Hunter, who ranks No. 3 in sacks in that time (48.5), the Minnesota defense now has arguably the most dangerous pass rushing duo in the entire NFL.

With that deadly defense, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Vikings sitting as favorites to win the NFC North in 2020.
