Fitzpatrick is expected to be out an extended period of time. While the exact timetable is not yet known, Washington had to make a move to bring in someone else to make sure it didn't fall short on QBs should another injury occur.

Kyle Shurmur NFL

Washington announced Monday that it is signing QB Kyle Shurmur to its practice squad.

Shurmer has never played in a NFL game, but has previously been on the practice squads of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
