There are few things in the NFL as exhilarating to watch as a big hit. It gets the home crowd going just as much as any other big play or touchdown. However, this Reggie Bush play is in the conversation for the biggest hit in NFL history.
Running a quick running back out pass to the side behind the line of scrimmage, the Eagles defender saw it the whole way and leveled Bush with a blindside hit almost instantly after catching the ball.
Bush is understandably shaken after the hit. It was so hard and he was so unprepared that your first thought was to make sure he was ok. Luckily he seemed to just have the wind knocked out of him, which after watching that tackle, is just about the best case-scenario you can imagine.
The defenseless receiver rule would have protected Bush in this instance, but that wasn't an implemented rule at the time, and the result was one of, if not the most, vicious hit we've seen in decades.
