Troy Polamalu was one of the most electric defenders in NFL history. Thanks to his incredible feel for the game and rare athletic ability, Polamalu always had a knack for making special plays.

The most famous of which is probably his ability to leap over opposing offensive lines, but he was pretty great in coverage as well. And he certainly proved that on this play against the San Diego Chargers back in 2008.

The concentration that it takes to make this catch is ridiculous. It's even slightly reminiscent of Julian Edelman's famous catch against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.

In fact, the catch looked so improbable that the Chargers actually decided to challenge the play. It was, of course, upheld, however. The play didn't turn out to be all that impactful, though. The Steelers would miss a field goal on the ensuing drive, and the Chargers scored on their next drive.

None of that takes away from just how incredible this catch was, though. And it was just one of many special plays that would help make Polamalu a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
