Following a few snubs and subsequent campaigning from his Milwaukee Brewers teammates, Devin Williams is finally headed to the 2022 MLB All-Star Game. Williams was officially announced as a replacement selection on Sunday, taking the place of Atlanta Braves starter Max Fried on the NL roster.
Williams revealed his initial reaction was pure relief after finding out he made the All-Star Game.

Williams admitted questions about not making the All-Star team were starting to frustrate him since the decision was out of his control, but he's happy the call ultimately came. He said it's been a "long road to get here" and "it's nice to be appreciated for all [of] my efforts."
The 27-year-old noted earlier this week that he's never been an All-Star at any level, but he felt he was deserving this season. It's good to see MLB's higher powers finally agree and send him to his first career All-Star appearance.
Williams has solidified his case as one of the best relievers in baseball this year. He owns a 2-0 record and 1.77 ERA in 35.2 innings, along with six saves.
Brewers fans will be able to watch Williams make his All-Star Game debut on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
