In probably the most predictable firing of an NBA head coach in a long time, the Brooklyn Nets relived Steve Nash of his duties on Tuesday morning. While Nash didn't do himself any favors during his Nets tenure, he also was provided with a nearly impossible situation. Between roster changes, injury issues and flat out locker room and organizational chaos for his entire time as head coach, Nash didn't have much of a roadmap for success in Brooklyn.

Regardless, Nash stayed humble and grateful when he addressed the organization and its fans in his goodbye tweet.

In what was described as a mutual parting of ways, Nash now heads back into retirement, until he gets his next offer, if it ever comes and if he ever chooses to accept.

The Nets moved quickly in their search for a coach, reportedly planning to hire suspended Celtics head coach Ime Udoka to lead the Nets franchise on the sidelines.

It's a curious choice at best for a franchise already covered in constant controversy. Then agin they look pretty bad on the floor right now, so hiring the guy who took his team to the NBA Finals last season might seem like the best possible basketball move.
