The Buffalo Bills backfield has featured both an electric rookie in Devin Singletary and a seasoned veteran in Frank Gore to open the 2019 season.
Singletary has looked fantastic, gaining 127 yards on just 10 carries. However, a hamstring injury suffered in the Week 2 game will force the rookie to sit during their Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, giving Gore a larger workload and a huge boost in fantasy football value.
In his 15th season, Gore is set to be a bell cow for the Bills on Sunday. Even with Singletary healthy, Gore has seen the majority of the work, racking up 30 carries to Singletary's 10. With just Gore and T.J. Yeldon healthy in the backfield, Gore can be expected to see even more rushing volume this week.
It has been tough sledding for Gore so far with Buffalo, averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, which is on pace to be the lowest average for his career. However, he could find more success with his increased workload on Sunday, facing a Bengals defense that has given up 165.5 rushing yards per game (third-worst in the NFL).
Gore is a pretty safe bet for 20 touches on Sunday, making him a great fantasy option against the Bengals He's a safe play with some solid upside and could be one of the more popular salary savers on the board for daily fantasy this weekend.
With this in mind, Gore sits 30th among RBs in our Week 3 fantasy football rankings.
