Finishing with a 7-10 record in the 2021 NFL season, the Denver Broncos have now missed the playoffs in six consecutive years. Looking to stop that streak before it reaches seven, Broncos management will be doing what they can to improve the team this offseason.

Fortunately, Spotrac lists the Broncos as having nearly $40 million to work with when it comes to free agency. With several helpful options out there, Denver has a great opportunity to add some pieces in hope of becoming a Super Bowl LVII contender.

Here's a look at three free agents that the Broncos need to sign to make a Super Bowl run next season.

Broncos Free Agent Targets

1. Von Miller, OLB/EDGE

It only makes sense for Denver to try to bring back Von Miller after winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams. For starters, Miller has made it clear that his heart is with the Broncos and that playing for the Rams was just another job. Denver fans would love to have him back and it'd be more than just for nostalgia purposes. Miller proved that he could still be a solid pass-rusher in 2021, finishing with 50 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 17 quarterback hits and a forced fumble in 15 games. The Broncos had an elite defense last year, so bringing the former Super Bowl MVP back would only make it even more dangerous.

2. Quinton Jefferson, DT

Broncos general manager George Paton has made it clear that he wants to improve Denver's run defense this offseason. Veteran defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson could definitely fit that profile. The 6-foot-4, 291-pound defender started in each of the Las Vegas Raiders' 17 games last season, racking up 47 total tackles, a pair of forced fumbles and one broken-up pass. He also demonstrated the ability to get to the opposing quarterback, recording 4.5 sacks and a career-high 16 QB hits. Not only would Jefferson improve Denver's defense, but it would also hurt the rival Raiders in the process. That's a win-win in most Broncos fans' books.

3. Terron Armstead, OT

The Broncos surrendered the 11th-most sacks in the 2021 NFL season, so it's no surprise that they want to improve the offensive line. One offensive lineman who'll be getting a lot of attention is three-time Pro-Bowl tackle Terron Armstead. He only played eight games with the New Orleans Saints last season due to injury, however, he only allowed one sack on 468 offensive snaps. When healthy, he's consistently one of the best at his position and was a key part in the Saints having one of the better o-lines in recent years. Spotrac is listing his estimated market value at $23.9 million, which is a lot more than most teams can afford. Fortunately, the Broncos have the cap space and paying that much for a player of Armstead's caliber is more than worth the price.
