Week 8 Fantasy Football Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for New Orleans Saints vs Chicago Bears

Two of the NFC's best face off in this Week 8 clash between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears. New Orleans is currently a hefty 5-point road favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 8 showdown.
Who Should I Start Fantasy Football
Start Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints: Michael Thomas hasn't played since Week 1, but he looks on track to suit up for this one. The long absence, difficult matchup and all the news surrounding Thomas might make fantasy managers a bit hesitant about starting him, but he should be just fine. Besides, you just can't leave a WR who put up at least 16.0 PPR points in 14 of 16 games last year on the bench.
Start Darnell Mooney, WR, Chicago Bears: Darnell Mooney has been pretty impressive this season. He's a boom-or-bust WR4 option, but there's reason to believe he could fall on the "boom" side of things here. For one, Allen Robinson is in danger of missing this matchup, and the 10.0 targets he sees per game have to go somewhere if he can't play. Mooney has averaged 6.5 targets per game across Nick Foles' four starts, and that number is likely to increase without Robinson. Plus, the Saints' secondary hasn't been great, allowing a league-high 2.83 passing TDs per game. He's a risk, but don't be surprised if he gets loose a few times here.
Sit Tre'Quan Smith, WR, New Orleans Saints: Some thought the Tre'Quan Smith breakout game was coming last week. Playing without Emmanuel Sanders and Michael Thomas, Smith was supposed to serve as the team's No. 1 wideout. Unfortunately, it never materialized. Instead, he was outproduced by Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris. With Thomas likely back, Smith isn't a recommended play.
Sit David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears: David Montgomery struggled to do much of anything once the game got out of hand last week, and we could be in for a repeat performance here. As 5-point underdogs, Chicago is likely going to be playing from behind, which could mean Montgomery will be seeing less rushing volume than usual. And the volume he does see might not be all that valuable, as New Orleans' run defense ranks No. 4 in Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics.
