Week 2 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for 49ers vs Eagles
By Larry Rupp

Two teams looking to start 2-0 meet head-to-head in Week 2 when the Philadelphia Eagles host the San Francisco 49ers. FanDuel Sportsbook has the 49ers as 3.5-point road favorites in a game that is filled with playmakers on both sides of the ball.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this NFC Week 2 clash.
Deebo Samuel Fantasy
Start Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel balled out in Week 1, hauling in 9 passes for 189 yards and 1 touchdown. More importantly, Samuel saw 7 more targets than anyone else on the 49ers' offense. He has cemented his status as the No. 1 WR in San Francisco and draws a perfect matchup in Week 2. The Eagles gave up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs last season, including 17 touchdowns (T-No. 17 in NFL). San Francisco put up 41 points on offense in Week 1 and will be looking to keep that success going at Lincoln Financial Field. Samuel is a must-start player this week.
Jalen Hurts Fantasy
Start Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: The Philadelphia Eagles' 26-point victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 had a lot to do with the stellar play of quarterback Jalen Hurts. The second-year starter racked up 264 yards through the air, 62 yards on the ground and 3 passing touchdowns. San Francisco's defense is not an easy matchup by any means, but the 49ers did give up the second-most rushing yards to opposing QBs last season (446). Look for the 23-year-old to use his legs in order to put together another solid performance in Philadelphia's first home game of the season.
Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy
Sit Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers: Efficiency was the name to Jimmy Garoppolo's game in Week 1 as he averaged 12.6 yards per completion and converted 17 of his 25 pass attempts. The downside was that he only threw 1 touchdown. The Eagles put on a pass defense clinic against the Atlanta Falcons, holding quarterback Matt Ryan to just 164 passing yards. Philadelphia also gave up an average of just 237.4 passing yards per game in 2020 (No. 14 in NFL). All of this adds up to Garoppolo staying on the bench in Week 2.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy
Sit Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles: Tight end Dallas Goedert played well in Week 1, hauling in 4 passes for 42 yards and a score. However, he faces a much tougher test in Week 2. The 49ers gave up the least amount of fantasy points to opposing TEs last season (8.12 per game) and posted the seventh-best pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL. This seems like a game in which the Eagles will focus on field position and running the football. That doesn't help Goedert from a fantasy football perspective. He has starter status moving forward, but Goedert is a sit candidate this week.
