It's safe to say that NFL and Dallas Cowboys fans alike probably didn't head into the 2020 NFL Draft with either the expectation that CeeDee Lamb would be the third wide receiver taken off the board, or the expectation that he'd fall to Dallas
However, as we all know, expectations and reality don't always collide, and this couldn't have been more accurate for the moment when Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and owner Jerry Jones were grinning ear to ear to submit their selection of Lamb at No. 17 overall in this year's NFL Draft.
Lamb was a stud during his time at Oklahoma, sharing Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Kyler Murray in 2018 and Heisman finalist Jalen Hurts in 2019. Lamb hauled in more than 1,300 receiving yards on 62 receptions for 14 TDs last year, on top of 1,158 yards and 11 TDs through the air in 2018.
He can also be a versatile weapon outside of the slot and in the ground game too. Lamb quietly rushed for more than 200 yards on just 17 attempts in 2018, but he was limited to only nine rushing attempts last season.
Lamb has a bright future in Dallas, and after seeing this highlight reel from just his first week on the job with the Cowboys, fans should be jumping through the roof at the talent they grabbed midway through the first round.
