Seahawks News: Tyler Lockett Signed to Four-Year Contract Extension

There was some uncertainty regarding Russell Wilson this offseason, but it appears as though the Seattle Seahawks have re-committed to him as their long-term option at quarterback.

Now, they’ve locked up one of his favorite targets to a four-year extension.

Tyler Lockett’s new four-year deal is reportedly worth $69.2M and includes $37M in guaranteed money.

Lockett has emerged as one of the most productive receivers in football, and he racked up 100 catches for 1,054 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He will combine with D.K. Metcalf to give the Seahawks one of the top wide receiver duos in football for the foreseeable future.

Ultimately, Lockett’s fantasy football value will be determined by how heavily the Seahawks run the football in 2021. He was the No. 1 wide receiver in fantasy after the first eight weeks of the season last year. He then finished as just the 24th-highest scoring wide receiver over the final eight weeks of the regular season when the Seahawks pivoted to a more run-heavy approach.

Head coach Pete Carroll has already stated that he wants to establish the run more next year, which could put a serious dent in Lockett’s fantasy stock.
