Trade talks involving Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson are heating up as the new league year approaches. The Seattle Seahawks have been linked to Watson in the days following their trade of Russell Wilson as a potential suitor.

It turns out that interest is very serious, as Seattle is among the frontrunners to land the star QB.

USA Today's Mike Jones reports that the Seahawks are one of four team that have expressed the "strongest interest" in the Texans quarterback. They join the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns as initial frontrunners.

"The Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks have expressed the strongest interest in Watson, two people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports."

This group lining up for Watson is far from a surprise. The Saints and Panthers were revealed on Sunday as two teams who made offers for the QB already, and the Browns are reportedly assessing their options under center outside of Baker Mayfield.

The Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also mentioned as possible Watson suitors, making this a full crowd of QB-needy teams or squads who could use an upgrade to become true contenders.

Seattle is certainly well-equipped to pursue Watson after dealing Wilson for a package that includes the No. 9 pick in this year's draft. Houston is expected to command at least three first-rounds picks in any Watson trade, so the Seahawks' return for Wilson could easily be used as a starting point in Watson talks.
