The New Orleans Saints made a midseason move last year to bolster their defense by trading for linebacker Kwon Alexander. He immediately slotted in as a starter for his first seven games in New Orleans, but he tore his Achilles in Week 16 and missed the rest of the year.
Kwon Alexander Contract
Alexander is scheduled to visit New Orleans on Tuesday, signaling that both sides are open to another potential year together.
The former fourth-round pick spent five games with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 before being dealt to the Saints. He recorded 39 solo tackles, 4 passes defended, 3 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks on the year.
The familiarity between both sides could motivate a deal to get done. Alexander also won't be a costly option after just being cleared to resume football activities, but he provides a veteran depth piece for this defense.
The Saints currently have +110 odds to make the playoffs this season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
