The Los Angeles Rams' storybook season will continue with an appearance in Super Bowl 56. There is more reason for positivity, too. The LA fan base will be glad to hear that tight end Tyler Higbee's latest injury update comes with good news after he exited Sunday's action with a knee injury.
Tyler Higbee Injury Update
Initial reports suggest that the Higbee avoided any serious damage after leaving the NFC Championship game in the first quarter. The sixth-year pro even has a shot to suit up on February 13. That's a sigh of relief given the way things looked for him on Sunday.
Higbee has acted as a security blanket for first-year Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford this season. He posted 560 yards on 61 receptions during the regular season and tied a career-high mark with 5 touchdowns. The 29-year-old has also logged 115 yards 9 receptions across three playoff games.
Having Higbee on the field is crucial given the Rams lack of star power at the TE position. Backup Kendall Blanton filled in on Sunday by hauling in 5 passes for 57 yards. However, he is not known as a pass-catching TE.
Higbee's ability to participate in practice during the next two weeks will go a long way in determining his game status. For now, it's simply a wait-and-see situation. The Rams head into a Super Bowl matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals as 4-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
