Raiders Have Already Ruled Out One Player for No. 7 Pick

The Las Vegas Raiders are in a great position with the No. 7 overall pick in next month's draft. Las Vegas could go any number of directions, with premier prospects from every position still expected to be available then.

However, one potential choice has already been taken off of the Raiders' draft board.

Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports defensive tackle Jalen Carter is not being considered for the No. 7 selection. The Georgia standout has been embroiled in off-the-field issues lately, and it appears those have dissuaded Las Vegas from even thinking about drafting him.

The conversation around Carter has gone from his stellar play to the concerns surrounding him. Once a legitimate cotender to be the No. 1 overall pick, legal issues and rumors of a lacking work ethic have taken a major hit on his draft stock. Now he could slide out of the top 10 as the Raiders and Atlanta Falcons (No. 8) have reportedly ruled him out as a selection.

Though this is the pre-draft noise, things could change in a month's time. For now, however, it appears Las Vegas will focus its efforts elsewhere before it's on the clock.
