Patrick Surtain II Disrespected by Latest Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds

Throughout the first half of the NFL season, two rookie defenders emerged as favorites to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award on FanDuel Sportsbook: Patrick Surtain II and Micah Parsons.

The two first-round picks have duked it out all season all, however, one of those names is pulling ahead from the rest of the pack.

Unfortunately for Denver Broncos fans, it's not their stud rookie cornerback in Surtain. In fact, Surtain is being seriously disrespected by the latest odds, even after taking home AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds

The latest odds on FanDuel Sportsbook show Parsons running away with the award at -700. Surtain now ranks second with +800 odds and Odafe Oweh checks in third at +1800 odds.

It's hard to compare Parsons and Surtain because one plays a linebacker/pass-rush position and the other lines up at cornerback. But, Surtain has been brilliant. He's fresh off a week in which he recorded two interceptions including a 70-yard return for TD.

Surtain also ranks T-6th with his 11 passes defended and has proven himself as a lockdown corner in just 11 games of NFL action.

There are six weeks remaining on the NFL calendar and Surtain will have to step up his game in a big way in order to close the gap with Parsons in this award race.
