Packers Meet With Top Wide Receiver Ahead of NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers recently signed Sammy Watkins in free agency to bolster their receiving core, but there's still work to be done following the trade of Davante Adams. A potential offensive weapon for Aaron Rodgers visited the team ahead of the NFL Draft on Wednesday in prospect Treylon Burks.

Burks is widely considered one of the best WRs in this draft class following a dominating final season with the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 22-year-old racked up 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns on 66 receptions in 12 games played. Burks also averaged a healthy 16.4 yards per reception in college.
While Burks didn't stand out at the NFL Combine in March, his tape shows what he is truly capable of if developed under the right coaching staff. He excels at picking up yards after the catch and constantly beats his defenders on 50/50 balls. That is exactly the type of player this offense needs.
The Packers own the No. 22 and No. 28 overall picks and Burks is being mocked in that range time and time again. It makes sense considering the Packers top returning wideout is Allen Lazard. Lazard finished the 2021 season with only 513 yards and 8 touchdowns on 40 receptions (15 games).
Green Bay is tied for the fourth-best odds to win Super Bowl 57 at +1100, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl Odds.
