NFL Rookie of the Year Odds Improve for Gardner Minshew

Following the injury to Nick Foles, many Jacksonville Jaguars fans threw the towel in for what they expected to be another lost season. However, sixth-round rookie Gardner Minshew has stepped up in a big way, quickly becoming a fan favorite.

After getting his first win on "Thursday Night Football" against the Tennessee Titans, his odds to win the Rookie of the Year award have jumped to +1500, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Through two-plus games, Minshew has been efficient with the football for Jacksonville. He has completed 73.9 percent of his passes for 692 yards and five touchdowns to just one interception.

Minshew has also been able to extend plays with his legs, running for 80 yards on 11 carries. He has proven to be a player that can handle starting reps in the NFL, and he very well could be the future for the Jaguars.

Despite his terrific play, he has not been able to crack the top six in the odds to win the Rookie of the Year.

Kyler Murray continues to be the betting favorite to win the award (+170). The other quarterback to rise in the odds is Daniel Jones, who has been named the New York Giants' starter this week, replacing veteran Eli Manning.

Jones is currently available at +700 to win the award, while Josh Jacobs (+550), David Montgomery (+600) Marquise Brown (+700) and T.J. Hockenson (+1300) round out the rest of the top six.
