Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has been nothing but productive over his first two NFL seasons, and expectations regarding his role in 2021 are high. Yet, the Eagles refuse to fully unleash him in a workhorse role out of the backfield.

And now a disturbing trend surrounding Sanders is starting to emerge from the first days of Eagles training camp.

Sanders is essentially splitting touches with fellow RB Boston Scott to this point, and that spells possible disaster for the former's fantasy potential.

Sanders has proven to be a two-way beast out of the backfield in Philadelphia. He ranked as RB13 in PPR scoring formats as a rookie in 2019, seeing 15.1 opportunities (11.2 rushes plus 3.9 targets) per game.

However, he fell to RB23 in 2020 as the Eagles' QB situation quickly deteriorated. His targets (52 vs. 63) and receptions (28 vs. 50) both notably fell from his 2019 numbers as Philly's signal-callers struggled.

The hope was that Sanders' presence in the receiving game would be revived given that new starter Jalen Hurts lacks weapons around him. But there's still questions over Hurts' talent, and the potential for Scott to cut into Sanders' rushing workload severely tanks his value as a two-way producer.

Currently going No. 34 overall in drafts, according to FantasyPros' Average Draft Position (ADP) data, Sanders could seriously burn managers if this training camp trend continues.

On the flip side, Scott provides managers a possible late-round sleeper to target. His rush attempts jumped from 61 to 80 in 2020, and his targets increased from 26 to 36 as well. He even saw his role grow at the end of the season and stole some of Sanders' snaps.

Scott earning nearly the same amount of rushing reps as Sanders in camp makes him a sneaky player to monitor. He's a deep sleeper at RB83 (No. 282 overall) in ADP, but he's seemingly being given the chance to challenge for a starter-level role.
