Through the first three weeks of the fantasy season, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has exceeded expectations, ranking as QB13, after having an average draft position (ADP) of QB23, according to Fantasypros.com. But after being a late add on the injury report this week with a hip injury, Stafford's Week 4 fantasy outlook might not be as high as it was earlier in the week.

Stafford started the season out with the terrific 29.6-point fantasy performance in the tie against the Arizona Cardinals. But since then, Stafford's fantasy output has fallen each week, totaling 17.1 and 12.1 fantasy points in Week 2 and 3, respectively. There has been no mention of a hip injury before this late add to the injury report, but we know the Lions and Stafford have a history of not reporting his injuries.

Stafford and the Lions are facing the Kansas City Chiefs at home this week, which looks to be a positive game script for the Lions passing attack, with an over/under set at 54.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Kansas City has given up the 13th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks thus far this season.

If Stafford is active, and is relatively healthy, he should be considered a part of the QB1 conversation against the Chiefs' defense. If he does indeed turnout to be inactive, rookie David Blough is expected to get the start, which would be a hit to the fantasy values of the remaining Lions skill players.
