Chicago White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn has never been one to shy away from who he is. The 34-year-old has displayed his competitiveness and aggressive nature throughout his 10-season MLB career and isn't going to start hiding who he is any time soon.

Always one to speak his mind, the former All-Star had an extremely bad-ass quote this week regarding his aggressive mentality every time he steps foot on the mound.

Sometimes, a player's personality or mindset may change as they get older. It's not unusual for a younger star to be labeled with "attitude" problems at the start of his career, only to start getting praise as he ages. In fact, that's one of the exact reasons why Lynn won't shy away from who he is.

"When you're coming up in the game, it's 'Oh, he's got a bad attitude,' this and that. And when you get older and start pitching better, 'He's a bulldog.’"

Lance Lynn, White Sox RHP

Lynn has been one of the better starting pitchers in the league this season. He's started in eight games for the White Sox so far this season, going 5-1 with a career-best 1.51 ERA and 50 strikeouts through 47.2 innings pitched. It's gotten to the point where he's tied for 4th-best odds to win the American League Cy Young Award at +1500, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Lynn's play has been a big reason why the White Sox have been having a successful season so far. They're currently in sole possession of first place in the AL Central with a 27-19 record and show no signs of slowing down. FanDuel Sportsbook has given them +850 odds to win the World Series, which ranks them 4th across the MLB.

If the White Sox want to turn these odds into a World Series victory, they're going to need Lynn to continue being his unapologetic self on the mound.
