Kyler Murray had a great rookie season. He led the Arizona Cardinals to a 5-10-1 finish in 2019, which might not sound particularly impressive, but that was a marked improvement from 3-13 the previous season. While his performance has created some much-needed optimism in Arizona, few, if any, have him pegged as a legitimate NFL MVP candidate this season.

However, the odds, provided by FanDuel Sportsbook, tell a very different story.

Kyler Murray NFL MVP Odds

Murray is available at +2600 to win the award, putting him in a three-way tie with Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady for the ninth-best odds of any player.

Unsurprisingly, Murray's odds have skyrocketed since the team acquired DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans. As of Feb. 16, Murray was available at +4400, giving him the same odds as long shots like Derrick Henry and Kirk Cousins.

The Hopkins addition should be particularly impactful considering Arizona's pass-catching group received the sixth-worst grade from Pro Football Focus in 2019.

While it'll take a pretty significant leap for Murray to put himself in the MVP conversation, adding Hopkins was a great start, and the odds suggest he's an interesting dark-horse candidate.
