Is Kyle Lowry Playing Tonight? Injury Update Ahead of Celtics vs Heat Game 2
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry has been dealing with a hamstring injury throughout the 2021-22 NBA Playoffs. It's forced him to miss seven of the Heat's last nine games and held him out of Tuesday's 118-107 Game 1 victory over the Boston Celtics.
Even if Lowry hasn't performed well in the postseason games he has played this year, there's no doubt that he's integral to the Heat's success. That's why it should come as no surprise that fans are wondering about his status ahead of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
Is Kyle Lowry Playing Tonight?
Lowry will NOT be suiting up to face the Celtics in Game 2. The Heat already ruled him out of Thursday's lineup last night as he continues to deal with his hamstring sprain.
Kyle Lowry Injury Update
Lowry's status isn't too surprising considering that he hasn't suited up since Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers on May 8. Even when he has managed to play, his 6.2 points, 5.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds on .297/.208/.800 shooting shows just how much this injury has hampered him.
There's no exact timetable for Lowry's return as it seems that the Heat are taking things on a day-to-day basis. Fans will just have to cross their fingers that Lowry feels good enough to play in the near future.
Celtics vs Heat Game 2
Even though Lowry was missed, the silver lining is that the Heat are 7-0 this postseason without him. It also helps that the Celtics will be without Derrick White. The Heat are 2-point home favorites over the Celtics on FanDuel Sportsbook.
