Justin Verlander Reveals Intriguing Choice for Spring Training Locker

When two-time Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom left the New York Mets in free agency this winter, New York didn't hesitate to replace him. The Mets signed three-time Cy Young winner Justin Verlander just days later, ensuring they'd have an ace to lead the staff in 2023.
Apparently, Verlander isn't just taking deGrom's place in the rotation.

According to baseball reporter David Lennon, Verlander has also taken deGrom's old locker at New York's Spring Training facility at Clover Park in Florida.
This is a clear statement by Verlander, who's never backed down from a challenge. He's the new sheriff in town, and he's made it obvious that he intends to pick up where deGrom left off.
The Mets are certainly excited to have the nine-time All-Star aboard, especially after he added another Cy Young trophy and World Series ring to his Hall of Fame resume in 2022. While he'll enter the season at age 40, he's shown no signs of slowing down and is eager to help New York win its first title since 1986.
If Verlander stays healthy and effective, anything's possible. New York currently has the fifth-best World Series odds on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
