Julio Jones Injury Update Boosts Calvin Ridley's Fantasy Outlook in Week 3

Julio Jones' status for the Atlanta Falcons' Week 3 NFL matchup against the Chicago Bears remains up in the air as he is trying to overcome a hamstring injury that he fought through last week as well.

If Jones is unable to suit up, it boosts fellow wide receiver Calvin Ridley's fantasy outlook for Week 3 and beyond as he immediately becomes the No. 1 wide receiver on the team.

Jones seems to be a true game-time decision, which could benefit Calvin Ridley as he would slide into the role of becoming quarterback Matt Ryan's No. 1 option on the offense. Ridley has had an amazing start to the 2020 season hauling in 16 catches for 139 yards. He also leads the league with 4 receiving touchdowns.

Ridley is the WR1 in fantasy through two weeks and shows no signs of slowing down. He faces a Bear's defense in Week 3 that has given up 254 passing yards per game so far this season (No. 20 in the NFL) and is an obvious must-start in all fantasy formats

Moving forward, hamstring injuries tend to linger for players no matter their caliber. Jones is one of the best wide receivers in the league when healthy, but the Falcons have no reason to play him if he isn't able to play at the same skill level as he always does. Ridley could become a top-5 fantasy wide receiver for the rest of the season if Jones' injury ends up sticking around.

Ridley checks in as the No. 13 wide receiver in our Week 3 fantasy football rankings, but would jump into the top 10 if Jones was forced to sit this one out on the sideline.
