Jimmy Garoppolo's first full season with the San Francisco 49ers ended prematurely thanks to a torn ACL in Week 3. However, now in his second year under 49ers' head coach Kyle Shanahan, there's a good chance that the sixth-year QB bounces back in a major way this upcoming season.
Shanahan has shown a tremendous impact on several quarterbacks that he's worked with in his time as an assistant and offensive coordinator in the league, guiding the likes of Matt Schaub, Robert Griffin III, Brian Hoyer, Matt Ryan and, most recently, Garoppolo's backup Nick Mullens.
Based on the above, you really have to like Garoppolo's chances of a seeing a huge fantasy breakout in 2019, especially now that more talented weapons have been added to an arsenal that already included Dante Pettis, Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida.
The 49ers made several savvy moves both in free agency and through the 2019 NFL Draft, bringing in underrated offensive talents like wideout Jordan Matthews and tailback Tevin Coleman, as well as rookie receivers Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd.
Garoppolo should have more than enough talent surrounding him to succeed, and if the "Shanahan Effect" is in full swing come Week 1 of this season, there's a chance that we see Garoppolo finish the 2019 fantasy football season in QB1 territory.
