Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams enters the 2023 offseason as an unrestricted free agent. The timing couldn't be better for the veteran running back, who led the NFL in rushing touchdowns (17) last year and racked up over 1,000 rushing yards despite splitting time with D'Andre Swift in the backfield.

Fortunately for Lions fans, Williams wants to return to Detroit next season and beyond, claiming he wants to finish his career in Motown.

Williams has played a huge role in the Lions' recent rise to contention. The team has improved dramatically since his arrival prior to the 2021 campaign and just enjoyed its first winning season since 2017.

Given Swift's injury history, re-signing Williams seems like a smart move for Detroit, especially if he's willing to take a discount to come back. After helping the Lions get back on track, he wants to finish the job and take them all the way, especially now that they're tied for the ninth-best Super Bowl odds for 2024 (+2500) on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
