Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered an ankle injury late in the season, one in which he played through during the team's first playoff appearance since 2019. The injury was clearly more severe than originally thought as Hurts will undergo offseason surgery on Wednesday to repair this ankle.

Fortunately for Eagles fans, the timing of this surgery will allow Hurts to fully recover by the time OTAs start in the spring.

Jalen Hurts Injury Update

Hurts' rushing abilities were unmatched at the quarterback position this past year. He led all NFL quarterbacks with 784 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground. This dynamic effort led the Eagles to lead the league at 159.7 rushing yards per game.

After finishing the season at 9-8, head coach Nick Sirianni and his staff will look to take another step forward next season. Their second-place NFC East finish was a welcome sight after finishing in last the year prior, and Hurts showcased his ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs.

Hurts tossed for 3,144 yards this season and recorded 16 TDs to 9 INTs.
