Heisman Odds List Joe Burrow as Heavy Favorite While Tua Tagovailoa Sees Massive Drop Off

The quest for the 2019 Heisman Trophy has seemingly turned into a one horse race, as LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has vaulted the competition in becoming the odds-on favorite to win the award.
Burrow, hot off LSU's 46-41 road win over Alabama in Week 11, is -700 to win the 2019 Heisman, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He is followed by three other quarterbacks in Ohio State's Justin Fields (+1000), Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts (+1600) and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa (+4000). Four players are +10000 to win the award, including Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins and Clemson quarterback (and one-time Heisman favorite) Trevor Lawrence.

Burrow has made quite the journey in becoming the Heisman favorite, as he was +6500 to win the award back in June. His impressive play (3,193 passing yards, 33 touchdowns to four picks) coupled with LSU's 9-0 start have caused his odds to skyrocket, going from +350 in October to -700 heading into Week 12. The win over Bama has likely wrapped things up for Burrow, with a cake walk of a remaining schedule on tap.
Meanwhile, Tagovailoa and Lawrence have seen their odds go in the opposite direction, after opening the betting as co-favorites at +250. Lawrence's descent was more rapid, as he was +7500 by October, while Tagovailoa dropped from +280 to +4000 following Alabama's crippling loss to LSU last week.

On tap for Burrow and LSU in Week 12 is a road tilt with 4-6 Ole Miss, followed by games against similarly unranked Arkansas and Texas A&M. Heisman hopeful Fields and Ohio State will face 2-7 Rutgers in Week 12.
