Gulfstream Horse Racing Picks Including Kentucky Oaks Prep Davona Dale Stakes for Saturday 3/4/23

The Gulfstream Championship Meet continues and Saturday's huge day of racing at Gulfstream includes the KY Derby prep Fountain of Youth Stakes, along with the KY Oaks prep race, Davona Dale Stakes below. A total of 14 races including 9 stakes are on Saturday's card with first post at 11:00 a.m. ET.

1. White Frost and Speak of the Devil, Race 11

Race 11 is the $150,000 Grade 3 Honey Fox Stakes for older fillies and mares going 1-mile on the turf. Speak of the Devil (7/5) is the top choice by numberFire and Horse Racing Nation's Super Screener. She's ridden by top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. for trainer Chad Brown. Speak of the Devil has beeon off since last June's Grade 1 race (4th), and she won here three previous starts.

White Frost (7/2) races second off a layoff after winning last out with dueling fast fractions. She's 2-for-2 on this turf course and at this distance.

2. Atomically and Red Carpet Ready, Race 12

Race 12 is the $200,000 Davona Dale Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. The numberFire data picks Leave No Trace (5/1) and the favorite Red Carpet Ready (2/1) to battle for the win. Horse Racing Nation also likes Red Carpet Ready as a top win contender along with Atomically (8/1) and Infinite Diamond (10/1).

Atomically is 4-for-4 in the trifecta on this surface with a win. She runs second off a layoff looking for more ground and a solid morning work to support. Red Carpet Ready is the obvious choice with superb balance in her speed figures off a win in a Grade 3 race here last month by 2-lenghts over Undervalued Asset (3/1) and third place finisher Atomically, who was the co-favorite with Red Carpet Ready in that race. Red Carpet Ready is now 3-for-3 in her career.
