Fantasy Matchups to Exploit: Start Josh Allen Against Eagles in Week 8

The Philadelphia Eagles' secondary has been one of the worst in the NFL this season. That's no secret. Philadelphia has surrendered 1,894 passing yards this season, which is the third-worst total in the league, and opponents have thrown 14 TDs against Philly, the sixth-highest mark in the NFL.

The Eagles' inability to stop opposing passers makes them a great defense for quarterbacks to face in fantasy, but it's actually Philadelphia's struggles against rushing QBs that could give Josh Allen a huge advantage in Week 8.

Allen has been fantasy's QB13 through Week 7 on a per-game basis, and much of that is due to his ability as a runner. He's run the ball at least four times in all six games played this year, racking up at least 20 yards in each game, and he's scored a TD on the ground in three of six starts.

He could feast against an Eagles' defense that has surrendered at least 40 rushing yards against every mobile QB they've faced since last season, other than Dak Prescott.

Philadelphia has also allowed five rushing TDs in its last eight games against dual-threat QBs during that span.

Additionally, it's not always pretty, but Allen has been one of the most consistent QBs in fantasy as of late. He's racked up at least 18 points in 10 of his last 12 games, with the lone exceptions coming against the New England Patriots.

Considering New England has made everyone look bad recently, it's hard to fault Allen too much for that.

Set to tee off against an Eagles' team that has given up the 10th-most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs, Allen looks poised for a massive game in Week 8. He's currently QB10 in our Week 8 fantasy football PPR rankings.
