3 Easiest Games on the 49ers Schedule in 2022

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the more promising teams in recent years, making two NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl in the last three seasons. The chances of that trend continuing is looking good, with the 49ers having the 14th-easiest 2022 NFL schedule, according to ESPN's Mike Clay.

Some of San Francisco's upcoming opponents will still pose a serious challenge, but several matchups are also easily winnable. If the team can take advantage of the gift that the schedule-makers gave to them, it could be another successful season.

Here are the three easiest games on the 49ers' schedule in 2022.

1. @ Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are projected to be one of the worst teams next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. A run-heavy team like the 49ers should love this matchup, especially after the Falcons gave up 131.9 rushing yards per game (No. 27) in 2022. The 49ers dominated the Falcons, 31-13, when these two teams met last season and it's hard to imagine the outcome being that different given how lackluster Atlanta's roster looks. With Elijah Mitchell leading the backfield, the 49ers should — both literally and figuratively — run all over the Falcons in 2022.

2. @ Carolina Panthers

The 49ers will also go head-to-head against the Carolina Panthers next season. Although San Francisco is just 2-2 in its last four games against Carolina, the 49ers dominated the Panthers by a score of 51-13 in their last meeting in 2019. The 49ers racked up a whopping 232 rushing yards that game and the chances of them having another dominant ground game are looking good after the Panthers surrendered the ninth-most rushing yards (126.3 per game) at home in 2021. With Carolina lacking a dynamic offense and defense, all signs point to an easy 49ers victory.

3. @ Chicago Bears

The 49ers will travel to face the Chicago Bears in another easily winnable matchup next season. The Bears' have many questions on offense, when it comes to a lack of wide receiver options. The situation isn't looking promising for them after the 49ers gave up the seventh-fewest passing yards last year. Sure, Chicago could run the ball instead, but San Francisco was also a top-10 team against rushing attacks. The 49ers beat the Bears, 33-22, last year and the latter hasn't exactly made enough changes to make it a closer game this time around.
