There's always risen concern when a starting pitcher leaves a start after two innings of work. That's exactly what happened to Arizona Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen on Friday night. Gallen pitched just 2.0 innings and threw 57 pitches before getting pulled in the top of the third inning.

The quick outing raised suspicions of injury troubles, which were confirmed following the game. Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo provided an update on this potential injury following the game.

Zac Gallen Injury Update

Lovullo explained that Gallen will undergo an MRI on Saturday to examine his potential hamstring injury. For Gallen, it's another piece of bad news in an unlucky year of injuries. Gallen's already missed most and May and the first half of June with separate injuries. The fear is he'll land back on the injured list.

Only time will tell, but the Diamondbacks would love to see their young starter return swiftly. He's just 25 years old and in three MLB seasons, owns a 3.08 ERA across 36 career starts.

Arizona continues to struggle this season, sitting 23-61 and an astonishing 29.5 games back in the NL West standings.
