Christian McCaffrey Teases Panthers Jersey Number Change

Christian McCaffrey is one of the most dynamic players in the entire NFL. Carolina Panthers fans, and fans across the league, missed his inspiring performances after he was sidelined for all but three games with injuries in 2020. But, McCaffrey is back and healthy heading into 2021.
Not only are fans excited about his on-field return, but there's a possibility McCaffrey will be sporting a new jersey number. A new NFL rule expanded the list of numbers that certain position players can wear - including running back. McCaffrey recently hinted on Instagram of going back to wearing No. 5, a number he wore throughout his career at Stanford.
Imagining the Panthers' star RB back with No. 5 gives fans a flashback to his college days. McCaffrey was electric at Stanford, rushing for 2,000+ yards in 14 games during his sophomore season. That's just downright insane. His stats continued to blossom on the NFL. The four-year back recorded back-to-back 1,000+ yards season in 2018-19 while leading the NFC with 403 touches and 19 total touchdowns in 2019.
McCaffrey and the Panthers will look to make some noise in the NFC South this season, despite owning just +1200 odds to win the division on FanDuel Sportsbook.
