Chris Carson was already a workhorse running back for the Seattle Seahawks, but his fantasy value got a significant boost after backup Carlos Hyde was declared out this week. The Seahawks go on the road to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 4 NFL action.

Hyde is dealing with a shoulder inury that may be worse than expected, while Carson was declared active this week while battling a knee injury. He has practiced this week and is ready to go.

Chris Carson Fantasy Outlook

Carson has been a big reason why the Seattle Seahawsk are ranked No. 2 in the NFL in scoring (37.0 points per game) as he has posted 157 rushing yards, 93 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns on the year. He has proven to be a ground-and-pound running back while also being a weapon in the passing game for quarterback Russell Wilson.

Without Hyde, Carson may have an even bigger workload than usual. Hyde averaged over 5 carries a game throughout the first three weeks and scored a rushing touchdown as well. As long as Carson is 100 percent healthy, he will be getting a lot of touches on Sunday afternoon.

Hyde's absence essentially makes Travis Homer the backup running back for the Seahawks this week. Known for his pass-catching abilities, Homer was the first running back to come into the game when Carson was injured in Week 3. He will see some touches, but presents no threat to Carson's workload on the day.

Carson checks in as the No. 13 running back in our Week 4 fantasy football rankings. He is a player that can post low-end RB1 numbers for the rest of the season if he keeps a similar workload in the offense.
